I have enjoyed swashbucklers, noir, fantasy and science-fiction stories for as long as I can remember. I loved the dash and excitement, the danger and the mystery. At five years,I answered my mother's question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" with, "I want to be knight" and was promptly told that there were no knights by my mother. I was sure she was wrong so decided to be swashbuckler on the big screen, I spent 20 years acting and even worked several years as a knight touring the country on the renaissance fair circuit.
After twenty years, I'ld learned to ride a horse, handle a sword and lance and survive for twenty years on a steady diet of ramen.
I thought about my life. It took awhile but I finally figured it out that it was the stories that I loved and not the life style. That is when I became a librarian. I may not being riding a horse as much as I would like but at least I no longer rust.
